Afghanistan -is leaving the right thing?

Where have you been the last century or so? Cue: rousing orchestral music
Requiem in D minor might be more appropriate.
On reflection people should be more philosophical about these setbacks.
Britain colonised or invaded most of the known world.
Now the known world wants to colonise Britain.

Move to Afghanistan then.

The Narrative that the Taliban victory was swift really paints them being more competent than they are. 2014 is when Major operations by NATO and the US effectively ended. The Taleban rise has been over 7 years, the US had talks 18 months ago about the timing of their withdrawal.

The Afghan army position was underpinned by NATO / US logistics and air cover. Once it was informed that would go the Afghan Army would be left without key operational functions. The Taleban then came in and offered the Army either the prospect of fighting or accepting the new rulers. The takeover seemed swift but there was a lot of actions and decisions made prior leading to this.

Governing is harder than winning. Taleban will soon realise that. They want to tap into the trillion dollars of minerals they need foreign markets and currency.

The North Carolina branch of the RWR must be gutted to learn that lawmakers in the state are poised to raise the mimimum age at which children can wed - from 14 to 16.

"About 248,000 children were married in the US between 2000 and 2010, according to an analysis by Unchained At Last. A majority of the children were young girls married to adult men. Some of the children were married at ages or had spousal age differences that meant sexual relations between the couples would have legally constituted statutory rape..."

You can see the parallels between the GOP and their Islamic fundamentalist counterparts.

They had a lady on the box who has studied what went on with the Taliban when western support switch to Afghan diy. She had written a book of course - metioned. Seems to be correct. The Taliban where around in a significant total areas of the country doing their thing. This has made the recent changes far easier for them. I'd guess this went on due to talks being held - political solutions. LOL As Corbyn mentioned a number of times these have to be held who ever they are talking to. Actually he is 100% correct. It always happens.

C4 went bombastic though. At least 3 people shot and not able to show any proof. Several channels showed what may have been guns shot into the air for crowd control and I'd have thought that who ever produced those would include people who were shot.

There has been protests relating to the use of the Taliban flag against Afghan's own. Sort of thing that might cause a civil war and it's never been a peaceful place long term.
