I can remove the outer sheath using a scalpel and pliers (not a neat but acceptable job) but how do I cut 10mm off live/neutral inner wires (10mm2)? I tried on 10mm2 live/neutral using C.K Automatic Wire Stripper but they're 6mm2 max so leave small bite marks in the inner wire sheath (but dont go through the sheath).

I could push thin rubber into the teeth so the teeth marks are neglibible (fraction of 1mm). Only 150 quid specialist wire strippers seem to cut 10mm2. All wire strippers seem geared up to 6mm2 for some reason

No, I have never used that or anything similar, and never saw any need to use or even consider using such things either.

I tried this type on some 10mm²

Took 10mm of insulation off OK, but when I tried a longer length (25-30mm) it didn't do it in one go - I had to rotate the wire by 90° and do it again. Couldn't see any nicks in the conductors.

Also had a go with a flex stripper

Did a very neat job, but you need a bit of trial-and-error practice not to cut too deep. But let's be honest, even if you do it's just a thin blade with very little pressure on it, so it would only scratch the copper, not "damage" it.
