An awkward Christmas for lefties?

A balance open view would add the criticism of the right
The Tories, and reform
I believe I have done both in past posts.
I notice there was nothing. Your kids will notice too if they have been taught to think.
All the time I on at them to think and be practical. Ai I stump our brains its crucial that our children are practical, hands on and thinkers.
Otherwise you're just teaching them to be prejudiced and biased.
My Girls have friends who were born to foreign parents and some born in foreign countries. They love their mates.
I push my girls to learn foreign languages and travel the world . They no we should all be treated equal in this country. Unless you break the rules.
You can criticise the right, can you ? Try it
You don't know me or my girls.

we ended up with this complete mess of incompatible units.
Nonsense. The old duffers, hanging onto the Imperial measurements, are expiring quicker than you can say Brexit voter. I had no trouble dropping Imperial and taking up metric. Most catalogues, trade books, manu's, Architects, Structural Engineers, all prioritise metric. The UK science world is all metric. Schools teach metric. Fuel is sold in litres.

Golf and travel is about the crux of it for me, Imperial wise and I don't see either of those being an issue. Most travel now is largely invested into satnav, so a lot of the heavy lifting is done by a kind voice and an in-car tele.

We didn't join the EU. We joined the EEC, which gradually and deliberately mutated into the EU, which was unrecognisable from the thing we'd joined.

The names do get very confusing. The entity we joined in 1973 was actually called the 'European Communities' because, by that time, the EEC had merged with the steel and coal community (ECSC) and Euratom. Then, when we had the 1975 referendum, the enabling Act was called 'An Act to provide for the holding of a referendum on the United Kingdom's membership of the European Economic Community'. But the question on the ballot paper used different terminology again, referring to the 'European Community' and the 'Common Market'

Your "Anti-European" term is (deliberately) loaded. We're part of Europe, along with all the other wonderful countries. Most are against the bureaucratic anti-democratic body that's managed to seize control over its governments, not the place itself.
You have something to back this up with or just more wild talk

I believe I have done both in past posts.
No. And the post you made explaining about instructing your kids noticeably ignore it
All the time I on at them to think and be practical. Ai I stump our brains its crucial that our children are practical, hands on and thinkers.
You are actively teaching them to follow you and not think for themselves.

Regardless of political views that's a very bad thing to do
My Girls have friends who were born to foreign parents and some born in foreign countries. They love their mates.
Means nothing. Friends are friends regardless. The bigger picture is the world
I push my girls to learn foreign languages and travel the world . They no we should all be treated equal in this country. Unless you break the rules.
Nobody has ever disagreed with that.
Encourage them to travel. With a free mind
You don't know me or my girls.
I know you are forcing your views on them from what you've said in here

I understand that view as well.

But I have said from the start that nothing SPLINE writes is meant to be taken seriously. He is a comedy persona created by another long standing poster.
Hes hilarious

We should have gone full-on metric decades ago, instead we ended up with this complete mess of incompatible units.

Also most CE-type technical standards are absolutely fine, we should align with them unless there's a reason not to - unlikely unless they deliberately engineer them to make us fail, if so we diverge only then.
I thought farage wanted imperial measurements brought back

That criticises others that do the same.

He is spreading out and out russian backed propoganda.

It needs to be addressed for what it is

It's really not humour, he is serious

When I was at school we started the day witb an assembly which usually included something read from the bible, and always ended with a hymn and a prayer. All other schools were like this too, it is how we were one as a nation. How many schools still do that?

Many teachers don't know that they are politicised.

I went to a St Jonhs church school 40 years ago and had to sing hymns and say the Lords prayer, society progresses. I don't mind my kids learning about all religions, but I don't want Christianity or any one religion forced onto them.
In terms of politics, there maybe children with parents like you who need to be given broader view about what all the political parties stand for, and not just what one particular party stands for.
