And There It Was........Gone!

I feel like a little duck making rings around an old lumbering goose.
That reminds me of the old joke, the old woman climbing the ladder because they've locked themselves out, retorts, "Oh Midlred, I do feel like a fireman."
Midlred replies, "don't be daft, where can I find a fireman at this time of night."

Let us not forget that the EU - China deal replaces numerous smaller deals with individual countries, so it's hardly groundbreaking, merely harmonising.
You may want to look back to see what I said about it then.

If India end up becoming the 'worlds factory', which is starting to look more than possible, that would be ground breaking.

It also includes improved protections for China's workforce, among other things.
The Uighurs in forced concentration camps that the Chinese government denies even exist?

That was the other point I made regarding how the EU mentioned that workers rights were paramount in the UK negotiations, but not in the China negotiations.

Anyway I'll chalk that up as another win for Team Woody, and move on.

Which the new EU - China agreement specifically addresses. whereas the numerous agreements which it replaces did not address.

Anyway I'll chalk that up as another win for Team Woody, and move on.
I'll chalk it up as a win for the new EU - China agreement which you, and filly, deprecated.
In filly's case with a load of biased and emotive language.
Which brings us full circle.

Full circle indeed, back to the dirty blankets.

You are my hero!
Been saying this for years but people are obsessed with chinese rubbish.
I remember a thread here in which some members were praising chinese quality.
WTF!!!

There is nothing rubbish about Chinese quality.

You get what you specify.

China is now the worlds factory, there's no going back, it's too late.

How's that Hinckley Point funding going?
Anything in the agreement about Uighurs? ....... oh that's right, nada.

I'll chalk that up as a Woody loss :ROFLMAO:

Wtf?

You really can't argue a point can you. Sad.

The point was, the EU double standards in their claimed negotiating red lines with the UK and China. In one, worker rights are paramount, in the other non existent.

Woody loves a bargain, innit.(y)
Damn right.

I'm annoyed at Boris for stopping me buying my t-shirts from Primark which were made in some Bangladeshi child factory for 1p. I hope the factories don't close and the kids get laid off. That would be terrible.

yes I used to import timber from Germany and am helping out another business who wants to do the same -its proving impossible at the moment.

Notch, it is time you started investing in your own country - why do you have to import timber?

Have you ever been to Scotland? It has trees and forestry plantations in abundance, and so does Northumberland.

What happens to British grown timber?
