It uses jigsaw blades , like a mini recip saw.

I have a wooden manual of these.
Don't know how good it would be to your wrist if the blade jams ..
 
It is available on the US Amazon site but not the UK Amazon site. That makes me think that it might not be legal in the UK (for safety reasons), I am only guessing though.

Most of the positive reviews seem to be Vine reviews.

In the US it is $99, over here it would probably be about £105 (inc VAT).
 
I saw that, or something like it from kickstarter, pop up in my feed last week.

I can see it being similar to my bosch 12v recip saw, which is only useful for certain light duty cutting.

But I wonder in that format and size, if the internal mechanism is tough enough to cope with the loads it will endure.
 
Every jigsaw I have used had a support (guide) to prevent the blade bending backwards as you cut forwards.
