black/white

Think that you don't get black competitive swimmers, as their bone density makes them less bouyant.

Basically, black people were inadvertantly bred for sprinting (well survivors of the slave trade were). All the 100m finalists in the last Olympics had ancestry from the slave trade. About half the slaves taken died on the way to the boats in Africa, half of these died in the crossing and of the survivors, the biggest and strongest men and women were bred together for their offspring. Basically survival of the fittest and strongest over many generations.

I watched a C4 documentary by Michael Johnson on it. Trailer below, the full thing is well worth watching if you can find it.

Alan Wells was on the tele few nights ago and said he was the last white man in an olympic 100m final.

When I were a boy all the money (and drugs) was in the communist block so they would do well. The likes of Borzhov (sp) would be the lads to beat.

A;so in those days in the west indies all the fame and fortune was in cricket so their team was one to reckon with. Then the talented black lads realised the money was in the NBA so their cricket team suffered.

Now there is loads of money in athletics the talented black athletes in the WI are sticking to running.

So a lot to do with their genetic make up (muscle type and musculo skeletal make up) and a lot to do with where the money is.

Whatever the reason they are very very good and I've got tickets to see Bolt run later this week

why isnt there any white male sprinters and no black male swimmers competing in the olympics ?
Have heard but not sure that black people have heavier bone density which is no good for swimming and this is why you don't see them in swimming races

I think I heard it mentioned that no white sprinter has managed the 100 metres in under 10 seconds, it does look like there is a slight genetic difference between black/white people which really only shows in the top % of sports. To the average man on the street I bet this difference disappears.

Christophe Lemaitre the French guy, I think is the only white sprinter who has run less than 10 seconds. he never entered this years 100m because he wanted to concentrate on the 200m. He has been 100m European champion too.

Every black world record holding/champion sprinter, and long distance runners have ancestry from West Africa....a certain region/tribe.

Black men with ancestry from West Africa generally have more bone density, faster twitch muscle fibres, faster patellar tendon, more anaerobic enzymes which give massive surges of energy.

You run with your legs but, unless your name is Allia, you swim mostly with your arms. Simples. 8) 8) 8) You attract all kinds of flak these days for even suggesting that the races were not created equal in every way but here goes anyway:

Way back in junior school I learnt that a negro foot (I hope I can still use that word on here) is a different shape from a European (ie white) foot. The heel bone protrudes further back, giving the calf muscle better leverage on the rest of the foot. This, according to the book, would allow its owner to run faster.

It seems that the book was right. It didn't have anything to say about swimming. The foot shape wouldn't help a swimmer but I can see how the heavier jaw would be a handicap. :( :( :(

Very interesting topic.
What i find mildly amusing is that when i honeymooned in Jamaica we were told to avoid the ganja sellers to just wade out into the sea. They won't follow because they can't swim. We were told over 70% of Jamaicans can't swim.
The amusing bit for me is that they're on an island....
Makes you wonder what the genetics were thinking.

A few hundred years ago, most people in the UK couldn't swim either; not even Royal Navy sailors!   You couldn't make it up if you tried.

simply genetics. Black people have higher muscle density, making them more efficient sprinters, but far less buoyant than non blacks.

What does buoyancy have to do with swimming? It's lung capacity that governs buoyancy anyway, that's why dogs float.

Before Lewis Hamilton you never really saw any black racing car drivers, mainly because black people are shyte at driving. Lewis however is a genius.
