bodgit and scarpa cordless drill

lidl is grim true, but like aldi they do some superb one off bargains on electrical and home items.

I don't think you'll do better than the Lidl for that kinda money. If only you could scrape together another £20 or £30, you'll be much better off. The drill is power tool numero uno in anyones kit.

Why not get this, will be fine for light drilling in wood and boards, pilot holes, and screwdriving. Even comes with all the accessories. Then you can save up for another drill, probably corded which you can use for drilling holes in walls.

Get this, an Impact driver. Brill!

got the ryobi in the end..

http://www.screwfix.co.uk/prods/80118/Power-Tools/Cordless-Drills/Ryobi-CDI1141-Combi-Drill-14-4V

£59 from screwfix...seems like a good deal. Little heavier than what i was after (and heavier than some 18v drills), but not too bad. Two batteries and 1hr charger as well. Oh, and it does have electric brake, despite what the page says.

Stupidly large case !!

So thanks to us you've spent twice as much as you'd hoped ;)
Don't worry though, I'm sure the Ryobi will serve you well, and outlast your first choices many times over.

yep fraid so.. i'm blaming you personally as you gave me the link :) but in all honesty the 13mm chuck tipped the balance..
