Something else could spoil your Christmas

"Documents seen by the BBC suggest the UK is on course for a much higher death toll than during the first wave unless further restrictions are introduced.

Deaths could reach more than 4,000 a day, one of the models suggests.

This figure is based on no policies being brought in to slow the spread of the disease.

At the height of the pandemic during the spring, deaths in the UK reached more than 1,000 a day."

Queuing up outside the crematorium puts a damper on the day.

When the Spanish Flu hit the world in the 1920`s it came in three waves , the second more serious than the first, and the third more serious than both other waves , have we learnt nothing from History ?

And when the Pandemic finished the world went into a Depression .

Of course we haven't.

The government has barely managed to learn any lessons from the first wave.

The first lockdown worked to reduce cases but was left late. This time when it was clearly going to be needed it was again left as late as possible and again people will die because of it. If they'd done a two week one over the half term then the economic damage would have been less and the lockdown shorter.

Thank feck for that. Won't have to go around to the inlaws and pretend to be enjoying myself.
I did that every year in my first marriage....Fekin haaaaaated it....Top useless present...Juggling balls..Pretending they were fan.fekin .tastic....

who do you think could have saved the economy or people and not spent millions

The Tory cabinet are incompetent.
They were chosen only for their loyalty to the Brexit cause.

So we have a govt that is still in campaigning mode, it has no ability with governance at all.

Corbyn and Labour would have been honest with the public and they would not have awarded billions of pounds of bogus contracts to mates.

The difference between then and now, is that rather than fire fighting the virus which was all they could do back then, they are trying to halt its spread this time around. Whether what they are doing is enough, or even the right thing to do, is all a matter of opinion - everyone seems to have an opinion and different opinion. No matter what any government does, lots are certain to be critical.

Corbyn? Honest? Hasn’t he just been suspended from the Labour Party? Was that for being too honest? So are you also saying that Corbyn and Labour would have kept the economy going and prevented more coronavirus deaths?
