Isn't it EU State Aid Regulation that stops the government helping?

WTO rules permit any other WTO member, including the EU and the US, to respond to any goods subsidy with countervailing measure of retaliatory special tariffs.

I struggle to understand how somebody can be that deluded. And then I remember - he isn't, he just knows that people will believe him. Anything that goes wrong, he'll blame it on not leaving the EU quick enough. When we leave, he'll blame it on not leaving the EU properly ("If I was allowed to negotiated..."). And people will still cheer Farage, Farage, Farage!
