Hi,

We bought two new ceiling lights ex display in a box an instead of me climbing up the ladder and spending an hour changing them both to find out they don't work. Could i add a 3 pin plug with a 3amp fuse to it and test them first?

However the light fitting is metal and does not have an earth cable, but the light is double insulated (double square symbol). Just unsure if this will effect it by adding it to a plug.

Thank you

Yes, of course.

No, it'll be fine.
