i know their a problem with feroli pcb but u can give them a tap and they fire up okay but not done much work on ideal boilers so that why i am intrested
CAN'T RECOMMEND IDEAL BOILERS

fitted loads of Ferroli Modena's and F24 / F30's
had a couple of faulty pcb's wth the earlier ones but on the whole reasonable boilers
fitted many different boilers over the years and can say the only boilers that have failed dismally have been Ideal!
mexico, icos, isar, evo and response boilers have all been ****e how is the new Logic going to be any different?
out of over 30 ideal boilers fitted only 1 has not had problems within 2 years! 25 have been PCB issues!

HI ALL
Well I just want to thank (NOT) the IDEAL engineers who came out via Homeserve to fix our boiler......and left it in a worse state than before....I don't joke here.
Just over a week ago, when an IDEAL guy was out to it - who had been here before - shut down our boiler due to a problem flue, well this was caused by another engineer who had to take the boiler off the wall to replace the expansion vessel. Things that make you go hmmm.
So when the flue was repaired, the boiler was switched on to discover...we had no heating! So in a desparate state I rang a local guy who actually comes out under homeserve (but not this time) who FINALLY discovered what was wrong - the domestic plate heat exchanger is clapped.
He also showed me how to switch a valve over so that we can either get hot water or heating. Roll on Tuesday when the IDEAL ISAR will be thrown out in favour of a more reliable boiler. I told homeserve I did not want another IDEAL so-called engineer trying to mess on with this thing.
These IDEAL boilers look really good.......especially on a scrap heap!
