Run the machine with the bar and end plate off.....after 30 sec or so oil should appear from somewhere (maybe behind the clutch drum) so it can feed from the chain.
It may take slightly longer to spray from the end of the bar.
The usual way is for oil to escape from a hole behind the bar, and head for one of the holes in the bar as you have found.
Avoid any excess turning on the pump adjustment screw - they always fail and then oil escapes wholesale.
