changing pads

im trying to change my front pads on a mondeo 18.00ltr year 2000.
as i havent got a manual im struggling ive got as far as taking the spring clip off. anyone know the next step ?

if it's a ford and like the old escorts then you need the infamous 7mm allen key.

why do you feel they need to be bled?

Provided you have not let any air into the system, the brakes should not need bleeding.
The new pads do need time to bed in, before the pedal feels solid again, no harsh braking for the first hundred miles or so.
