I wouldn't say hypocrite is the right word.

He believes we should conserve energy but believes such things do not apply to him nor his like.

In effect, we should do things in order that his way of life may continue unhindered.

Vive la république.

I believe that, on the grounds that we must pay for any energy we use, energy use will regulate itself... as long as they get rid of the Civil List.

I remember some charity flying a couple of members of staff of a school I worked in over to Africa for a week, in the hope of raising charitable donations upon their return. Must have cost several hundred pounds for the flight, with each of them using enough fuel on the flight for an African family for a year's cooking and heating, in addition to the UK taxpayers forking out about £1k for the supply teachers to cover their classes.

In fairness, upon their return, they did manage to put on a charity event which raised about £250.
