What would be the very cheapest cladding for a outdoor garden shed ?

For me I'd clad it in ply, and protect it with a waterproof layer (stain/paint). Helped a mate do the very same a few years ago and there's not a single sign of rot.

Only need 9mm provided the structure is firm and sound.

For the price of ply and paint, you could use plastic sheeting like stokboard, and it will never need repainting

Guys on here have built full garden rooms from old pallets to a very decent finish.
Maybe still find the threads in my projects.

if you want it to last say at least 7-10 years then apart from free material like palates the cheaper the option you choose the more frequent you have to strip repair or replace structural timber and re-clad
also cheap means no security so just leave the door unlocked to save damage

I like this idea. Apparently it's cheaper than ply and doesn't need painted.
