The times of sunrise and sunset around the British Isles of Albion throughout the year show the absolute genius of introducing British summertime !!

BRITISH SUMMERTIME ........NOT
eu time !

Gasbanni

I presume you are up north so I have chosen Newcastle;

As, at mid Summer, Sunrise to Sunset is 3am until 9pm GMT, what is genius about making it 4am until 10pm BST?

Here, at Latitude 37°, it would be 5.30am until 7.30pm GMT, so making it 6.30am until 8.30pm BST might be useful.

So, the farther north you are the less useful is Summertime, and vice versa, for people's normal waking hours.

Of course, you can always get up an hour earlier if you want.

Don't you remember what happened years ago when they abolished it ? All the problems it caused and so it was brought back ?? We've had silly politicians saying the same as you because they're too young to remember it's been tried once before and caused problems. British summer time is fine contemplate why it was brought in its a sensible thing because of our geographical position ...... Now shut up you stupid ignorant boy !
Yes,,we were all given a dayglo orange sash for school journey

Yep...

"Analysis of accident data for the first two years of the experiment, published by HMSO in October 1970, indicated that while there had been an increase in casualties in the morning, there had been a substantially greater decrease in casualties in the evening, with a total of around 2,500 fewer people killed and seriously injured during the first two winters of the experiment"

"The trial was the subject of a House of Commons debate on 2 December 1970 when, on a free vote, the House of Commons voted by 366 to 81 votes to end the experiment."

Nice to know you agree with incompetent politicians of that bygone era you want to get back to, gasbag (y)

The geographical position of Britain is not relevant to why BST was brought in.
It is when you consider the basic time zone we have chosen to be in.

If you look at a map, and take note of our latitude and longitude we should be on Central European time.

DST is a separate issue, and those most vociferously in favour of it seem to be the most inclined to ignore the reality that we have the amount of daylight we have, and that amount cannot be changed by fiddling with where we have the arbitrary positions of pointers on devices which display the time.
