It sez on tha box ....... "Don't use in a humid environment" ......

But the water heater is in the bathroom .......... Wod-do I do ?

Not practical dude

In what way John, is the appliance unsafe?. If it is don't use that.

I have no idea ...... Its only 6 months old ........ But I thought a CO detector couldn't harm any ........ I have no idea what steam does to the detectors bits ...... But at teh end of the day its kinda pointless having the detector & leaving in the drawer cos the instructions say "Ya can't" :(

Water heater thingi is in a apartment in Spain ........ LPG & all that :)

Short circuits the electronics and corrodes the metal parts I imagine.

i could be wrong but i thought you can't have a open flue appliance in a bathroom and if you where aloud that it could only be used for 5 minutes and should have a sticker in the front telling you so.

right batman i off to the bat cave to look at my books

"(since 1984) prohibit the installation of flue-less and open flue water heaters in bathrooms and shower rooms"

if the open flue and it have been put in after 1984 then it is a very bad no no and is classed at minimum as AT RISK and needs to be taken out

 sorry miss read the posts, if in spain then i have no idea what the rules are and you did not say if it was flue-less or open flue so i guess i jumped the gun anyway

sorry sorry

Yeah its gotta flue ......... Works fine ...... Looks nice ....... Well as nice as a gas heater can look ..... 8)

Most water heaters are balanced flue, however, I've seen a few installations where all the sealing gaskets are missing, I also came across a Main Mersey recently that wasn't even screwed to the wall  . It was only the balanced flue holding it on the wall.

Customer should get a full check done on it.

If its an old Chaffotaux Flexiflue (powered flue) definately get it checked, cowboys short out the FSD relay on the board.

No offence OP, and I could be totally wrong and if so will apologise now, but taking into account some of your previous subject matter I get the strange feeling that this whole story is a load of fabricated b*ll**ks.
