Common Sense at last.

Those charts show a large timescale - I also don't think its a coincidence that the demographic has changed somewhat. In the 50's, when the charts start, single parents were few and far between by today's standards. Our attitudes have changed massively since then and divorce became less of a social taboo as the years have gone on. Divorce became easier.

He didn't; he specifically used the word "correlation".
Strawman is apt here.

Which as I pointed out means little. (y)

But Gerry said correlate which means how data fluctuates together - but then he linked it together - youth offending due to single parent households which are encouraged by the welfare state. He was meaning causation. (y)

The problem of youth offending is overwhelmingly correlated with single parent households, which are themselves overwhelmingly correlated with the advance of the welfare state and the cultural dismissal of personal responsibility (from which family values flow).

A hate crime is when someone commits a crime against you because of your disability, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, religion, or any other perceived difference.

It doesn’t always include physical violence. Someone using offensive language towards you or harassing you because of who you are, or who they think you are, is also a crime. The same goes for someone posting abusive or offensive messages about you online.

Not hard to work out.

Ok. Who decides which perceived differences count and which don't.
For those that don't count; why not?

Ok. So what happens when that someone uses offensive language towards you or harasses you because of who you are, or who they think you are, if you are not who they think you are and you do not have any of these perceived differences?

Or, of course, they just hate you?

So does that not mean that everybody can be subject to 'hate crime' therefore there is no need for the list of perceived differences?

Not hard to work out.
Are you sure?

From the link:

"If you’ve been the victim of verbal abuse, talk to the police or one of our partner organisations about what has happened."

it'much easier work than finding burglars.
