Cooker Hood Connection

Hi,

Hope everyone is having / had a nice christmas!

Im going to be adding a cooker hood to my kitchen afterthe new year but the kitchen is already fully fitted and tiled. Is it acceptable to run a feed from the loft from either the ring final to a single socket or from the lighting circuit to a fused spur and have it in the chimney section of the hood?

There is nowhere else I can put one to make it accessable that I can think of.

You may run a Single Socket spur from the Ring Final, NOT the lighting circuit. A cooker hood is moisture laden in operation, and there is an outside chance it may trip out an RCD if a fault develops - preferably not the lighting one.

Flex outlet plate if connected to the lighting circuit, or FCU otherwise.
Perhaps a single socket if the hood is supplied with a plug fitted - most are not.
All of the above can be put in the chimney section of the hood.

You may want to fit an isolator for it somewhere.
Connecting the hood to an outside vent is also recommended, rather than the useless recirculating option.
