How would people suggest I cover up the architrave in the photo below? I dont want to see it all, I'd like a totally flush door. Any special filler or will it just crack?

Thanks

Architraves exist to hide the gap where the plaster and timber meet, They are dynamic gaps and will be prone to cracking. At a push, you could use a MS polymer to fill the gap but it would be really difficult to fill it flush.

just to clarify what is missing is the architraves so iff you install architraves they will cover the gap as opps says

Yes but I don't want any architrave. I'm doing a wood paneled wall, the squares pattern. I'll just make sure the timber planks act as the architrave. (I did want a different spacing).

you will still have an edge to Finnish where expansion and contraction may show through cracking or displacement
as in you may get a flush level frame and panel edge that with time may overlap or shrink short by say 3mm

Thanks, I did wonder about the edge of it. I did think of having the MDF strip fixed to the plaster surface and floating over the frame so to speak. Then they'll be a seem on the inside of the frame

Even on on a panelled wall, surely you will need some kind of trim on the edge? You could stain a strip to match the panels.
