Curtain rail over concrete lintel

Hello.

Just had my sons room replastered. There is a gigantic concrete lintel over the window and in the past, attempts to drill into it have proved futile. The previous owner of our house had glued a piece of timber above the window and screwed the curtain rail fittings into that, which, while not looking particularly slick, did seem to do the job.

I wondered if anyone had any advice? I've resigned myself to the fact that I might have to do the same as the previous owner but thought I put a post up on the forum before I went ahead.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

You can drill but requires a SDS drill, or you could glue a sheet of timber under the reveal and decorate to match walls then use the edge of this to screw brackets too, less obvious than a timber externally.

Thanks fox.

Can you recommend a particularly strong glue?
