Some of the sites I work at, mainly RWE, operate a 'don't walk and talk' policy where if you need to answer the phone you stop somewhere safe and use the phone. Others such as the nuclear sites dont allow phones to be taken on site.

BAE allow phones on site at the nuclear sub facility, although not in the DDH main hall

Nope, mobiles are all over the place there.

Being on site where you're not allowed a phone is a pain, I know one place that almost faced a revolt when they blocked internet radio as well.

Had a customer with a small chain of restaurants in the Herts area that had phone blockers installed. Even though ilegal he let all managers know that regular customers could get baby sitters & alike to call the restaurant.
I personally agree with no phones in places like this & not a lover of them myself.

My lads phones are available, though neither bother until break time. I always remind them to grab their phones off the van, if I go off for materials etc.

We had some floor layers on site a while back and the one lad (gambling addict) was glued to his phone all day. Sad.

I'm suprised theres not more phone related accidents. I was at Rugby services on Monday when a guy whos nose was stuck in his phone walked straight out in front of me. He didn't even look up, just crossed the road. If I hadn't reacted I think he would have come off worse against a Transit.
