More anti-drone legislation incoming. The government seizing the opportunity to put restrictions on a technology which is perfectly harmless in the hands of the vast majority because of the irreponsibility of a few malicious fuk wits. Two wrongs don't make a right, no need to penalise everyone, but hey that's what's going to happen.

Guns are harmless if used correctly, same as knives & trucks.

I believe all of us in The UK can thank The Israelis for letting us use their technology to keep our airports, etc safe. It's their equipment that's brought this fiasco to an end.

Then again, as The Israelis are constantly under attack from their Religion Of Peace neighbours, it stands to reason that they have an interest in developing state of the art defences against the aggressors.

Doubt they have anything in their arsenal though that is capable of drowning out the incessant drone of non-sensical drivel from liberals.

As this was all caused by someone flouting the law anyway, what will "more" law achieve?
FA.

As with present day firearms legislation, including in Scotland Air Weapon legislation [Up here if you own an air "WEAPON" the owner of that / these weapons must have a License]

The horse has bolted, the Jennie is already out of the bottle in that there are several hundred large and millions of small "drone type" devices already in the hands of the public at large, most if not all of these devices are not traceable meaning any such minded individual can operate the device and disrupt an airport or other such sensitive establishment if that individual drone owner is minded to undertake such an act.

Present legislation "prevents" drone use within 1 K of an airport, this legislation only works if the public pay any heed to the legislation.

It appears from medial reports, because of recent events new legislation will be brought forward, to be ignored by some one wanting to jump on a band wagon of notoriety

The new anti drone legislation was postponed last spring by chris grayling because of Brexit.
Allegedly the problem drone is an industrial one that has been modified to remove the geofencing.

Not helped by the current law that actually prohibits "tampering with aircraft" which obviously was written in the assumption that an aircraft has people flying it and is bigger. But those saying "shoot it down" do need to remember that even industrial drones are small and what goes up must come down as many middle eastern people find out when shooting guns in the air.

Which, if true (looks like it must be, or the drone was a grey import) means that legislation isn't going to do any good. Someone with the skills and will to do that did not do it by accident or out of ignorance.

What's the strongest wind they can fly in?

Maybe we should commission Dyson to build some f-off big fans...

I had a look at the Facebook page of one of the suspects and there are two big model helicopters on there.
Of course , that's no indication of any guilt
I do actually wonder if "drone" is an acurate term

para told me SLR {self loading rifle} was fired in the air, and it killed someone two miles away.
