If we go down the line of a curry is our national dish then Id say Pasta knocks it side ways.

Most of us will have pasta more regular than a curry .... or am I talking g out of my Mutton balti?

But many of us have pasta in the cupboard, and pour a jar of sauce over it. I don't think it's as revered as the Sunday roast which takes time, planning and several pairs of oven gloves.

I agree. For me Sunday Roast is our national dish.

I have a Roast nearly every Sunday. I dont eat Cod and chips once a month even. I love a king prawn Masala but I doubt I ha 3 or 4 in a year.

But we are all different. Im sure there are some that have a Masala every Friday after the pub.

I have curry once or twice a week. Love it. But I was brought up on meat and veg. I had an uncle who, until not long ago, described pasta as "foreign muck". He's quite the philosopher

Mr Bod makes a curry near on every Friday. Generally they tent to be far better than the local Bengal dishes up.

This is somewhat of a "where do you draw the line" question. One could say that the national dish should comprise of things we used to eat i.e. are native to England. In that case, Turnips should be out, as they were introduced here in 1700.

As a kid my Dad would say that he eats anything (within reason) Yet as I got old Id rib him as he wasn't so divers as he made out.

I love food and will eat most food stuff. But its got to be tasty or of a decent standard.
Love foreign food and will pretty much adventure into anything, more so than my Dad claimed that he would.
