It was The Times newspaper that broke this story, yesterday. The Times behaved as if it had discovered something completely unexpected and shocking, yet us ordinary folk have known about this sort of thing for nearly 30 years. The Times piece is behind a paywall, but you can hear the great Simon Webb on the matter here. This is the news, the Farage fiasco isn't...

Crikey is that the best the right has got

Is this what you wanted blup, is this how you envisaged the country? When you were little, wide-eyed, reading your first Karl Marx screed and getting the pages stuck together? Millions of disparate people brought in from everywhere in the world, all hostile to and in competition with each other? Is it everything you dreamt about? What a melting pot.

A quote from the article:

This was a ratio of 15 to one for new migrants from Cameroon in the 12-month period, although the dependants do not necessarily relate to the 12 migrant workers alone because family members can join main applicants who arrived in the UK in previous years.

This is about his dream of becoming PM, it’s got s*d all to do with a sensible debate about immigration. Nige has managed to make himself look a complete prat. The journey from self belief to delusion is a short one.

These care workers must be very rich.
It costs at least £3,000 per application, and the sponsor has to prove that they can support the family member, e.g. having an income of £30,000 pa.
According to the article and the rules, each care worker will have to pay over £45,000 for applications alone, to bring 15 family members to UK, and prove they can support them.
Why do these care workers bother to work at all?
A typically high annual salary in Cameroon is about £3,500 p.a.
These Cameroon care workers must be from the very top of 0.2% of the wealthiest in Cameroon.
So why do they need to come to UK to work as care workers?
It just doesn't make sense.
But spineless peddles it as though it's true.

Yes, that's right. 12 care workers from Cameroon successfully applied to bring 180 family members here.

As this was a Daily Express article I thought I'd fact check it.

Did 12 Camroon care workers bring 180 family members to the UK?

No, the 180 family visas were not brought over by just those 12 care workers.
While multiple media outlets recently reported that the UK Home Office granted 12 health and care visas to workers from Cameroon while issuing 180 visas to Cameroonian family members, the two numbers are not directly linked.
The breakdown of the statistics reveals what actually happened:

Understanding the Numbers
  • The 12 Visas: This represents the number of new main-applicant visas issued to care workers from Cameroon during the year ending March 2026.
  • The 180 Visas: This is the total number of dependent visas issued to Cameroonian family members during that same timeframe.
  • The Disconnect: The 180 family members were sponsored by the thousands of Cameroonian care workers already living and working in the UK from previous years, not by the 12 new arrivals.

No, that's wrong, even the article says that's wrong.

Why are racists so stupid?
