I need a visit to SS, never saw that part in conny’s postYou might be right, solder that looks like sealant to me under the 'clamp'. I doubt the wire has been soldered because the copper looks as if it is old and well oxidised/ tarnished. Had it been soldered the copper would be tinned.

Perhaps it was left part untinned for better flexibility ?
