Morning all,
I'm looking to replace my close-coupled toilet during the bathroom remodel with a wall hung toilet, using the Geberit Duofix element for wall-hung WC, 98 cm. I had a plumber around to quote who reckoned you would not be able to fit it to the existing soil pipe and it would need replacing with a new plastic pipe and part of the cast iron pipework outside replacing too. Obviously this would cost a lot and not something that I had originally anticipated.
Could you fit the wall hung toilet with the existing cast iron soil pipe with a McAlpine Drain Connector 110mm?
Can waste go out horizontally from the Duofix Sigma straight into the cast pipe or do you have to use their 90* elbow that's provided (I have searched endlessly for this online but couldn't find any examples or conclusive advice).
Would it be best to just opt for a replacement close-coupled or back to wall toilet that would fit the old pipe better?
Any help would be appreciated.
