Hiya,
Just looking for a second opinion, have a floor expert renewing our 100 year old floorboards, across a few rooms in 1st floor of our house. taking them up, repairing and relaying and then they will be sanded down. All going well but a lot of the old boards were split and so they’ve supplied a bunch of reclaimed boards to use on one bedroom. Popped around today and some boards are not screwed down yet and I lifted couple up and noticed that some of the thicknesses are only 13-15mm. They’ve also laid some old timbers across rock wool insulation which I guess is to add a bit of support but the insulation is suspended on chicken wire and there will be downlights below. It seems a bit suspect to me but would love a second opinion. If the boards were 18mm or 20mm like the original ones then they should be fine spanning the 500-600mm gap between joists. On e sanded down 13mm will become 11-12mm. Thanks in advance . Ps al the boards in this backroom photo are ones they supplied.
