Gas Meter on outside wall, going straight to back boiler, no exposed pipework of actual gas pipe, altough rads etc linked, so where/do you bond to?

in meter housing on pipework or within 600mm of meter or at point of entry into building needs to be 10mm and connected to house side of meter NOT to incoming supply side

Is it in an external wall or floor box? If so then make your connection in there with a blue coded BS951 clamp, obviously on the consumers side.

They can do. Red ones are for use in dry locations whereas the blue clamps are for use in damp, corrosive and humid atmospheres.
There isn't that much of a price difference either.

I always buy the ones that are advised for damp/wet conditions, even if things are pretty dry at installation point, the legrand ones (don't ask) that I have at the minute have a plain silver 'Do not remove' tag however, the thorsman ones I also have in the unit are blue.

I'm not sure there is any colour coding system by application, blue does tend to be a bit more visable, however.

Maybe silver ones can be anything then, it does make sense to colour code though, so you can instantly spot if the correct clamp has been fitted.

Mine are Legrand tho, that I was 'given' at the end of a job, must just be the french.
