Personally. I would be in a suit (and I agree with the earlier polished shoes comment). But then, I wouldn't dream of going to a proper retaurant in anything less than a suit.

Don't forget to claim for expenses, as your not an MP, you may forget. 
Trust me, if you went in Jean and Tshirt you would feel quite awkward and underdressed!

I dont know, I wouldnt expect a suit, but I would have said a shirt was a minimum. Court rooms aside, a decent number of nightclubs wont let you in with jeans and t-shirt.
