Hi, hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this for me...I'm having some issues interpreting the instructions for fitting the Salus thermostat...both the literature for the boiler and the thermostat...(not doing too well...!)

I'm not a complete dunce when it comes to electrics (at least I thought not..clearly I may well be wrong), but I'm baffled.

Here's a pic of the 24V installation diagram from the thermostat booklet -

Which, although evidently straightforward, looks identical to the diagram for the 230V installation, bar a little step in the L feed rail to the receiver.(no idea what that means)

Here's a diagram from the boiler manual -

From this, and some not too clear paragraphs accompanyin, I'm gleaning that a low voltage control should be used, which is fine, but I'm nervous about wiring the Salus in according to it's diagram and smashing mains voltage across the boiler circuit and killing it.

Hope someone can help/tell me I'm being an idiot/whatever.

Thanks in advance

Steve

As long as the N/O and Comm connections on receiver are connected to the 2 low voltage connections (and remove link between these two) on boiler, there's no risk of damage.

The Receiver then needs a permanent L an N 240V supply to run it's electronics. Take these either from the boiler's fused spur or from the same connections in boiler electrics where the power supply connects to.

If in doubt, get someone in.
