I have a Biasi boiler and because of a leak the 3a wall fuse keeps blowing. The part thats causing it is

Cogema 948016 rr 2x2 5mh-2.5a it has two blue wires and two brown wires and a round copper coil inside. The guy that fixed the leak said let them dry out first but that he thought that this part had blown and take it to a local spares shop on Monday. I would like to know what it is as its very easy to fit. Does anyone know.
Thank you
Fed up and very cold

You might be better asking in plumbing and central heating?? Possibly some sort of mains filter?

Nowadays you have problems buying boiler parts if you are not corgi registered. It does seem to be an filter which prevents the boiler contaminating the mains with interference. Usually totally reliable, as the repairer said it might just be OK after it has dried.

I carry a hair drier all the time and before I power a boiler up again after there has been water ingress I make sure the pcb is dry, It just takes one drop of water to kill a pcb when powered up, the silicone it's populated with today are intollerant of short circuits. You can bet your bottom dollar if you try to power it up having wet it you will kill it.

Originally most mdoern pcb's are adequately protected from water ingress, but installers have a habbit of deproofing it by not puting their cables in correctly or screws get lost and not replaced or snap connectors don't get sna[pped in or wiring harnesses don't get routed correctly prising case apart. SO water gets in, POOF! goes some silicone.
