hooking up altenative power to the house

I asked if an out of the box solution was available - the B&Q turbine ships with one (found while researching solar water heating) - just allows you to plug you turbine (or whatever) straight into the mains (whilst still connected to the DNO).

Look like fairly chunky box of tricks - perhaps where a big chunk of the £1500 goes.
