Hotpoint Ultima WT960 - leaking water - faulty inlet valve

A

abdef

Hi,

The washing machine is cold feed only and it was frozen up recently.

Anyway, went in the garage earlier and there was water on the floor!

Turned off the tap and opened the washing machine up to see that it must have pushed one of the valves out when the water froze.

They look like they are bonded into place to give a good seal.

Can I get some glue 'araldite' and glue it back in?

Also a link to a new part in case my fix does not work please.

Many thanks.

Simon

The valves are plastic welded together not glued and can be under a lot of pressure during use, I have never had any success at any form of repair with these (even if it initially seems ok it may pop again at anytime flooding again)

Thanks for the replies.

I did glue it and it did seem a good fix. Ran a wash and no leaks whatsoever (I kept the top cover off).

However it froze again and pushed it out, but not fully this time, although it had not defrosted and when that happened it may well have pushed it back out.

I'm going to fix it again and turn the tap off everynight while it so cold.

I think I will get a new part lined up as I'm not sure how it will last.

An update!

I did repair the valve with glue again back then.

We moved, the washer is now inside and has never been a problem!

Result. :D
