To be honest if the police insisted your alarm was slilent for 10 minutes would you do that for them in the hope that if it was ever activated someone would actually be available?

Ok so you have an alarm fitted and the local police having been informed it is going to be installed , they look over the proposal and decide with their previosly reserved right that they are going to insist that the siren is delayed.

and you say that doesn't mean demand. If the police insist on something does that mean you can ignore them? Or do you have to comply?

It amounts to the same thing. . . wether the police insist or demand in either case its an order.
 
Nonsense. But then that's your trademark.

A landlord reserves the right to refuse to serve you. A very slim chance of him doing so. Although in your case i can see them making an exception.
