Not much on google so I thought I'd start something for it to pick up.

I bought the largest version on ebay. It had 15% off for a reconditioned unit making it £330. This is as cheap as it comes unless you buy Evolutions 'Rage' electric thing. It arrived in two days by Palletline, so excellent. Although the box was retaped all of it appears to be brand-new. I can see no signs of use.

When assembling the bolts aren't the sizes specified in the manual and two washers are missing. It makes no difference though and what's there works fine.

For adding oil again the manual is hopeless. There's a oil filler at the front and it's really hard to get open as jammed against the belt guard. I used grips. Then I found there's a second oil filler at the rear, doh! You can't make out either from the manual.

Also in the manual, the choke lever is completely different.

Engine started very easily. I'm surprised how the 84kg isn't too bad at all with the wheels. With a 192cc engine it has plenty of power and a big plate so you won't be wanting here.

I have queried why the wacker is out of alignment. There are bolts on either side but I haven't touched them. Maybe wackers are supposed to be like this or maybe adjustment of the bolts is required. There's nothing in the manual about it. I'm awaiting on them to get back to me.

So far so good. Quality is decent I feel like it's a good buy.

I'd guess that this is a Korean engine, manufactured under licence in China and then bolted onto a Chinese copy of a European plate.......very common!
Still, it looks like a good piece of kit and should serve you well with the odd service.
I doubt if the importers will get back to you though, but you never know.
Good luck with it!
John :)

Yeah the smaller versions are repackages of Chinese things. It does say it's a Hyundai engine made under license. Hopefully being large it'll have a long and lazy life.

I'm using it on self-binding gravel front and back, after that not sure. Jewson is £25 a day to rent one, but being rained off and having the ability to work at my own pace was worth the £330. I figure I'll get back £230 if I keep it in good condition and want to sell it afterwards.

Update

Bolt on exhaust protector fell out. It has a spring washer but the vibes got to it. The second one was loose as well.

The throttle lever is a bit **** and will forever dry to back the power off. It's just annoying though.

Drinks petrol much much faster then a lawnmover!

Even when hot it needs the choke to start it and then immediately shut it off. I figure it's running lean.

A short burst of choke is perfectly normal - these air cooled engines do run hot and the fuel vaporises quickly, hence the need for choke.
You seem pleased with your purchase - it's good to hear that!
John :)

I'm probably three hours in with the wacker. The heat shield is screwed into holes in the exhaust, which are no more. Warranty claim has been filed...

I've got a Hyundai quiet air compressor..it does the job but the quality is dire. They badge up junk. I don't trust the cylinder (so much rusty water when draining) after only 18 months. The threads could have been cut with a grinder they're so poorly formed.

Just an update as I'm sure in the future people will find this by google.

I had a bit of a back and forth on ebay which initially I thought was them dodging the warranty but after several messages of repeatedly pointing out what had failed and how I can not be the instigator the part has been replaced.

So, still a happy customer.
