Ideal RS 80 solinoid gas valve

I wind blew out the pilot light on my boiler, I have followed the re-lighting instructions i/e turn grey button on solinoid valve untill resistance is felt, release it and wait 3 mins, nothing happens tried severall times. A spark comes from the igniter, how can I test to see if the valve is working ok. Urgent advise needed as we have 3 grand children staying with us and all under 5 years of age.

Call the AA (see previous posts.......) Ask them to put Weather Compensation on it.

I suspect it may be little more involved than just a gust of wind down the flue.

are you holding the grey button in as you press the spark ignitor ?

yep following instructions to the letter. I took off the flue covering to remove cement rendering on the out side wall and I did not put it back I was trying to make things easy for the plasterer. I have since replaced it. All was working ok untill the wind direction changed this afternoon.
