Is it asylum seekers who can’t claim benefits for so many months? How many months is it? Why can’t they claim?

Asylum seekers go straight on to benefits. They are not allowed to work.

Immigrants from Europe must wait 12 months until they make a claim, then they can claim for the rest of their lives if they want to.

I heard on the radio the other day that benefit claims by immigrants have risen by around 100% in the past year.

Didn't you say your wife was a Pole? Is she thinking about claiming?
