Investment

It's all gambling, however you dress it up.

If you're investing in shares or precious metals then you could end up with a lot less than you put in.

A rapid rise over recent history may be a sign of future riches to come, or it may be a sign that it's a bubble that's about to burst. Absolutely nobody knows which it is, however expert they claim to be. You need a time machine to make guaranteed returns.

We keep our money in boring old savings accounts. Because we don't want to lose it.

I can invest for you. I currently invest in South American long tusk pigmy bore marrow bones. 35% increase in my capital this year alone!

Gold ATM is at a recent high - will it continue UP, go flat or go down?

For the vast majority of people long term savings need to be in stocks and shares ISA's to get any meaningful growth. You should always have 3 - 6 months of "easy to reach" savings too

Global pension funds overseeing billions of dollars have reduced exposure to US equities, as concerns mount over lofty valuations and the high concentration of AI stocks in the market.

Large schemes, including the Australian Retirement Trust (ART), which manages about US$260bn, Canada’s US$388bn La Caisse and the UK’s £45bn People’s Pension, are underweight global benchmarks, according to FT research.

If you'd jumped in during 2012 then you'd have been in the red for another 9 years before being able to get your money back, i.e. a loss in real terms.

Gold has some tangible value - it's used to plate electrical contacts as it doesn't corrode. Beyond that its insane value is mostly based on being able to flog it for more to a greater fool, which is classic bubble territory.

When you hear MBK and Justin talk about stocks and shares on here it goes right over my head. Buying gold coins though does seem pretty much fool proof.
Deposit your money.

Then when you are ready. Buy. Either. FWRG or VWRP. It doesn’t matter which one.

You will initially lose some money due to the spread. Over the next few months and years it will grow.
This is great info, I am feeling slightly more comfortable with it

You’ve missed 10.74% growth since then. Gold on the other hand has declined 14.6% over the same period… just saying.

The problem is nobody can tell you if it’s a good investment, you can just look at the market performance and make a choice.

I remember some on here were laughing at TSLA and NVDA and saying how over priced they were.
