Is a full bore lever valve the same as a stop cock?

Only problem I have ever experienced with lever ball valves was on a stable yard. When the pipes froze, the water trapped in the ball split the body of the valve. Internally no problems.

dont want to add to the fighting...

so with a full bore valve you need a shock arrester?? and some type of back flow protected as well?? would it not easier to use a screw down valve(stop cock)...

Gosh all this is the least of my worries now - I started another post about using 28mm pipe - but seeing as I have a 25mm main in, I'm advised that 28 is pointless. Literally leaving in 40 mins to buy all the parts, so now wondering if 28 or 22 for my vertical pipes!? Mmmmm...

I bought what i need to include the 28mm option, can always return it. Thought I'd cover my @rse!
