Would it be more economical to buy a load of tea lights from IKEA and heat the tank 24/7 from those?
My boiler is much more efficient than yours then.So a 1kwh of gas will only yield around 700watts as 300watts gone through the flue! (@70% efficiency)
I've also seen comments in here to the effect that thermal stores are inefficient because "you throw away half the heat by mixing with cold water" (referring to the DHW tempering valve normally installed)
Fair enough. I doubt a towel radiator element is going to last more than a year. I think the best bit was the epilogue: "After some testing it was found that a 250watt panel was required"To be fair to the geezer in the link, the end of the video is missing showing him linking the towel element to a solar panel and an inverter, dont know why it was posted with half the story.
