John Healey (Defence Secretary) resigns.

feel free to make all the silly comments you like. Nuclear deterrence is intended to deter others from attack.
This isn't about Iran being driven to build nukes, this is about efficiently spending our money on useful assets rather than stupid white elephants.

Would we nuke Argentina if they invaded the Falklands?

do you think Argentina does not have nuclear weapons goals?

Irrelevant to my question, the Falklands is an example of a real threat the UK faced where nukes did nothing and where it would do nothing again.

But it's also an example of where a drawdown of conventional forces make Argentina think it could win.

Has it occurred to you that we face more than one threat?

We need a functioning navy, a nuclear deterrent, low cost CIWS to defend against drones and a whole bunch of other stuff that I will leave the experts to decide on.

What we need less of, is a department of net zero blah blah, who has been declared bad value for money and will not make any difference to climate change.

The problem with the existing claimed 2.5% spend is that money and budgets get moved around to make up numbers

So not nukes either, none of the armed forces want them.
