Life after Death......at least we're coming back!

The purpose of living is to procreate and continue the species.

Maybe for animals, but is eating, sh***ing and f***ing all that man aspires to?

Chartres cathedral wasn't built by spiders, and lions didn't get to the moon, so maybe - just maybe - mankind could be something different from other living creatures.

The first three that you allude to are, without doubt, the most important things in life! But man has evolved beyond these most basic needs. He has acquired other needs: getting drunk, having a feeling of power and superiority, satisfaction in doing a good job (well, many people anyway), obtaining frills and other attractive things (which, in turn, require money of course, so we can add getting rich). So many things that people live for!

My father in law used to maintain that everyone - absolutely everyone - is a hedonist. Yes, people like Saint Bob Geldof appear on the face of it to be altruistic, but even then I bet the act of giving poor people food/money (or, more correctly, persuading other people to do so!) gives him a nice warm feeling inside. Yes, he is a hedonist too!

unfortunately your human trait tells you that you're important, and there must be a reason
humans are intelligent enough to be aware that one day they will die and so self preservation and selfishness kicks in, its human nature (another trait)

;)
