I wasn't thinking about reactive education. I was thinking about proactive education.

That's the million dollar question....

Some countries do that, but they usually end up getting invaded or have sanctions against them until they behave, although most don't change their ways these days.

So you can't answer the question ? Is racism an action or a thought ? Good luck trying to control peoples thoughts.

It's called education these days, not thought control.

Anyway, the problem isn't people hating others, it's when that hatred influences decisions and actions to suppress, alternate and shackle people, which is the big problem blm is addressing.

Of course, the first rule if racism is to pretend that racism is just a personal opinion, a thought, so not really a problem to solve, which is also why it is so hard to reverse the effect of the bad education previously given out by the government that made many people racist in the first place.

And BLM has set the whole race relations effort back 50 years. Can you dislike black people without being racist ?
People throw that sort of term around, but what does that mean?

Have we removed all our black MPs? Repealed the race relations act (technically yes), removed all black TV presenters? Scrapped the police complaints comission brought in to deal with racist policing (again technically yes)?

Is it suddenly ok for football chants like...
For example, after the Deptford fire in 1981 when 13 black youths were burnt to death, a chant that could be heard at Millwall was:

"We all agree
******s burn better than petrol"
We aren't seeing yearly race riots, firebombings of black children's parties, or black youth groups equipping themselves with petrol bombs as self defense.

So, how has BLM set back relations 50 years again?

Nonsense. Only old hating gammons like you think that. Snuggle up with your Daily Wail comfort blanket you old duffer.
Right wing nationalism, such as Trump and Johnson have done more to turn back race relations than anything else.

They feed on people's fear to create a common enemy. And it works, just look at all the hatred of immigrants by the RWR on GD.

They feed on people's fear

They don't just feed on fear, they constantly send it the message that racism is ok by making abide remarks themselves and getting away with it. It's all orchestrated to mobilise other racists.

yes indeed, although I was tninking of the narrative: "immigrants take all our jobs, come here only for benefits, use our NHS for free" etc etc.
That way austerity is not the fault of the govt but immigrants.

In the USA Trump says about Mexicans: they are murderers and rapists, a few of them might be good people".

And the latest spike is in ...... Oldham.

Some "community" bloke on the news last night trying to explain that the spike [predominantly within the Pakistani community] is because of lack of jobs, lack of housing, lack this and that, but failed to mention that the main reason is because they all congregate together and do not follow the social distancing rules.

There's no hope.
