Mountain biking

Well sorry to steal your thunder Elsa but I too have come off, seems my antics have have caught up with me  :D, came off the bike Sunday before last, ironically we'd just finished the red route at our local Forrest Park (Haldon) and after that were gonna do a few laps of the little skills track but on the first jump of the track (on the upslope) my front tyre burst and then I body slammed into the upslope of the second jump, taxi ride to A&E with a broken wrist FFS, amongst other things. A bit of a logistical nightmare as had to leave the car/bikes behind and get a cab to home as I had the boy with me and then me onto hospital and a parking ticket to boot (successfully appealed against though so screw Devon County Council)! Today I had surgery to open up my wrist and realign everything and have a plate screwed in, my whole arm is completely anesthetised atm so the aching will return tomorrow, photo of my classy cast just before the surgery today. :D

Im sorry to see this.
It brings home thst we are not young. Hopefully this won't take you long to recover.

Thankfully my injuries where not to great.

However it hasfrustrated me as I was into a flow of working on my fitness & diet.
So Im out of work now. Just need to motivate myself back into it. I may have a little ride today.

I feel for you, brother.
I came off my bike a few weeks ago and fortunately landed on my tight, lots of meat there.
Despite that, I think I cracked a couple of ribs, badly bruised my shin and tight.
A few days later the bruising was horrendous.
Weeks later and my shin is still hurting a little.
Worst thing was that it happened 20 km from home and I had no choice rather than ride the bike.
Then I tried to hide the injuries from the boss, but she spotted the ice pack immediately as she entered her kingdom.
I managed to downplay it enough to retain the right to ride  :cool:
Same with you Johnny, I hope you have a fast recovery. Its important as we get older to keep our bodies in shape and keep the moving parts moving. But we need to remember that we are not kids and it takes us longer to do it. Hopefully you will be back on your bike soon.

But as Zammo used to say, "don't do it"

Makes me feel a bit of a pussay - my allotment is all of a mile and a bit away:

I cycled over the allotment this afternoon, emptied out one of my new potato grow bags, got a fairly decent crop and harvested, yet again, some more asparagus. I took some asparagus round to my sister and some potatoes round to my mum along with some mint. All on the cycle. Legs and undercarriage were a bit sore so I went home using the thumb trigger.

Thanks.
I was back on my bike after a week, despite the bruises.
I can't risk getting lazy and fat.

Look at this lot. Cut and freeze and im set for the week.

Exactly me. I hate being lazy. I was yesterday and it never sits right with me.
Yesterday paddle boarding.
Got to wake my friend from hibernation so we can get the K2 in the water next week.
Set to be over 25⁰C all week.
Bike ride possibly on Wednesday morning.

Im thinking of paddle boarding. Id do it with my girls. My concern is getting tangled in the weeds.

You need to find a place deep and clear enough.
Plenty of water in UK, just look at the map and you'll find places you never knew existed.

I see a bunch of women in the carport this morning listening to their instructor.

I do have an outdoor pursuit centre near. I was going to go for a Kayak but I understand that a board would be better for my fitness.

Coffee. Sourdough. Given up making it then? :ROFLMAO:
Mixing baking with cycles is a bit too much.

Im making decent coffee daily. Found a brand of bean I like from Sainsbury's that's good on the pound.
