MS170 Coil pack issue maybe

Ok
Just looking & i see some carbs that have a L & H adjustment but my issue then is I dont have the holes in the handle or beyond to pass the screwdriver through.
Me drilling a hole to allow this is going to then be hit or miss to get it right.

For sure, I'd give that one a try.......if your luck is in, you maybe won't need to adjust the screws anyway.
Once they are done, they should stay in adjustment for a good while.
John :)

So now i have had time to fit my purchased adjustable 2 jet carb purchased from that well know auction site.

I had to drill a small hole in the handle so the tick over screw could be adjusted.
Between the carb & the two 8mm nuts that hold it in place is a black plastic section which the air filter sits in.
This already had the 2 holes in the side for the L & H screw.
I just had to cut away a little of the white plastic that sits between this & the handle, this took about 10 minutes.

I turned both L & H screws in so they just seated on the carb then L screw out 1 full turn.
I also turned tick over up so the saw would keep running when started.

I started the saw & when warm i found the highest running speed whilst turning the L screw in & out.
At this point the chain was turning so i turned down the tick over screw until the chain stopped turning.
It was then happy to just tick over for as long as it wanted without issue.

Now with the throttle trigger held down i started to unscrew the H screw but it keep stalling.
I turned it out two full turns which helped & i was then able to find the fastest speed whilst the throttle trigger was held down.

Switched off the saw & let it cool down for 10 minutes.
Started up fine & idled all ok, Giving it a few triggers pulls it now revs right up without bogging down & dying.

So my £10 carb with a L & H screw did the trick

Thanks

The user is now in control where the other carb which had no adjustments is useless after a while.
