Has it been a success? Or is it a slow motion train wreck happening right now?

Paris, Stockholm and even London seem to be a complete disaster.

Do you see it settling down and becoming a good way of life? Or will it lead to endless unrest?

If people can't live in countries next to each other without fighting each other - why does anyone think you can do it with suburbs?

Will another million Roma Gypsies help the situation?

Lets ignore the violence aspect of the issue for a moment and look instead at more fundemental issues regarding its effect.

Lets ask either side.

1. When was the last time you socialised with another ethnic grouping either white/British Polish Asian Muslim West Indian Jewish etc

2. When was the last time you or your company did commercial business with another ethnic grouping either white/British Polish Asian Muslim West Indian Jewish etc

3. Have you ever reported someone to the police and why?

4. If the other ethnic groupings than your own were net contributers to the economy despite not integrating socially or through marriage would you accept this as ok.


My answer to the above would be

1. Never
2. This week and regularly over last few years
3. Yes various reasons from theft to motoring offences
4. Yes

The answer that I feel is the acid test is 4. Whether immigrants integrate properly or not they MUST be net contributors to the economy.

Surely multiculturalism means communities existing together but separate from each other in a known geographic area. It's the opposite of integration.

People from this side of Bristol dislike people from the other side of Bristol.

What hope do you have of people from this country settling down in peace with peoples from the other side of the world? At least people from the same city have many things in common. Things in common with someone for eg. from Pakistan: zero.

Yes, I think even the most naive are beginning to realise now that 'multiculturalism' is failing and that it was inevitable that it would fail. I have always thought so but, through fear of being labelled a racist and the consequences that would follow, I have kept quiet. After all, look what happened to Enoch Powell and Ray Honeyford.

Despite recent events, however, I don't realistically expect any remedial action to be taken. Perhaps it's too late, now, anyway.

As I said on another thread, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see further attacks by muslim terrorists and, when things become sufficiently provoking, race riots.

I thought multiculturalism would be something like different people mixed in together in mixed areas and schools.

Id say what the UK has is mono-culturalism, mini states next to each other.

This is the flaw in your argument Walt, a better one would be a "when in Rome" law, basically assimilate in and become British, none of this muslim community or sharia law bullocks, practice religion quietly, not outside a Woolwich bank.

I like and visit Finland. What I dont understand is why would a muslim move to a country like this with its free and top education and society then shackle their daughters with arranged marriages and 10 kids at home when they could do whatever they want. A country where its normal to sauna and then jump into a lake in the nak, yet your mrs is covered from head to toe. Well I know why they go there and the UK its for the system but there should be a law about putting in for 5 or 10 years before getting out.
