she will be pushed when the rest of the cons have chosen her replacement, and think that the electorate will not be too annoyed. Or when the minority government is defeated in the house.

October was being talked about, but if the fire scandal doesn't blow over, it may be sooner.

I'm not convinced by the fire scandal. It could well be a design issue (we don't know yet). Nothing to do with policy, budget etc.

I was highly suspicious of the protest march due to all the left wing banners being paraded.

Mistrust of the cons is high.

Their obsession with cutting public spending has led to quality reduction in public services and safety.

This has become widely recognised and resented.

Hence con boris the buffoon is getting flak for cutting the London Fire service, after a horrible fire.

And Theresa the ex-Home-Secretary is getting flak for cutting the police, after horrible terrorist attacks.

And Gavin Barwell, the Prime Minister’s new chief of staff, is getting flak because he failed to give the go-ahead to a safety review during his tenure as housing minister, despite it already having been delayed for years

And former housing minister Brandon Lewis is getting flak because he declined to bring in regulation forcing developers to fit sprinklers because he said it was not the Government's responsibility

And the con MPs are getting flak because they voted against a proposal that rented homes must be safe and fit for human habitation.

Perhaps you can't see a pattern here. Or perhaps you will argue that bad things happen, and cutting the quality of public safety doesn't have any effect. Or perhaps you will argue that it's all irrelevant and should be ignored.

The voters might not agree with you.

I can see a pattern, and I am not alone.

I think TM and the Tories are between a rock and a hard place,
The imminent deal with the DUP will stir up resentment against them.
As John said, their is deep distrust which is growing. I think it is disingenuous to suggest that the fire is being exploited for political reasons.
I think there has been simmering resentment and the fire was perhaps the release of the pressure.

If there is another election any time soon, it will be a labour landslide.
That is why TM is hanging on in there, and the others are supporting her.
The alternative is too ghastly for them to contemplate.
