Just bought the mrs this. for Christmas (kinda of). however since its not yet Christmas, I decided to drive it to work today. Cannot believe how little fuel it consumes given its a 3 litre twin turbo with over 300bhp and 700ft of torque. I was avg 47mpg with a mix of roads.

Nigh on impossible, I'd wager....give it a couple of weeks and I'd expect 35 MPG or thereabouts.

Does BMW supply it with those nets ( wind-deflectors )behind front head-restraints or do you have to buy as an add-on ?

No they are an extra - plenty around on eBay for under £200. The problem is you lose the back seats when its fitted.

managed 54mpg on a trip down to Brighton the other day - admittedly, its mostly down hill with a lot of 50mph limits and only managed 43mpg on the way home. That was driving it in old-lady mode (ECO), which takes some getting used to.

My 2 litre diesel is returning an overall mpg of 48, thats over 3 years and 26k.
