New van Questions.

All our Transits have slam locks but if the door is drilled in the right place the mech can be operated and door opened.
Do you always remember to lock the deadlocks?

No...... but mostly do.... its only the two back doors so Ill triple lock it..

I bought one for the driver door on my Peugeot Boxer but haven't got round to fitting it, in fact I haven't got a clue where it is other than in the garage somewhere. Got a steering wheel locking bar though, good visual deterrent.

Only if you want to hang on to it.

Does bugger all to protect the tools in the back of the van. If the scroates are not worried about drilling/angle grinding a side door a steering lock isn't going to do much.

Stops 'em nicking your camper van though, which is what mine is.

Back in the days when I was a tradesman, I got broken into twice. I was dead lucky in that most of my tools were on site on both occasions so minimal loss. I had a mate who lost £5k worth of tools parked for 10 minutes outside B & Q.
It really is a disgusting crime as the financial effect on the tradesman can far outweigh the value of the tools.

The van is manual but the Mini is auto. Just been out in it and shoved it in park, turned off ignition and no handbrake. Had to flick it on manually. It comes off automatically though. The Transit doesn't. Have to take it off manually.
